Products I Really Love

Makeup

Note: I do not regularly use drug store makeup products. I do occasionally pick them up, but my sensitive skin just cannot handle some of the products at the lower price points. I do, however, stockpile many other drug store buys, so fear not my budget minded friends, there will be information on here for you! 

Clinique CC Cream: Really fabulous stuff. I have tried several different BB and CC creams and this one is just plain fabulous. I love the way it feels on my skin and really appreciate the SPF (Irish girl gotta have SPF). Some may find the price point to be a little high, but I cannot use drug store makeup (believe me, I have tried them all).

Clinique Double Face Powder: I was a faithful Clinique user for many years and have just recently returned back to the brand (CC Cream converted me). This powder was the first product I ever bought from Clinique (way back in 2000) and it is still a fabulous product. I love the coverage, I love the feel, I love the fact that it does not have a nasty makeup smell. Also, at a much higher price point than drug store products, but for me, it is well worth it.

Clinique tip: Go and get color matched at the store, do not try to guess your color and buy online. Oh and buy during bonus time - more stuff for your hoard!!! 

M.A.C Eye Shadow: I actually do not use Mac eye shadows for my eyelids, but I do use carbon as my eye liner. I really prefer using powder liner and Mac has the best stay of any product I have used. I have grown out of Mac some, I spent several years as a "Mac Only" girl, but the loud thumping music and bright blue peacock shadow do not appeal to this housewife anymore - Lawd, I am getting old!

Victoria's Secret Skinny Kiss Lip Gloss: Now, my big butt cannot fit into ANY VS clothing products, but I sure do love their beauty line. I own this lip gloss in many different flavors (and yes, they are scattered all over the house, my car, and Alisha's truck). They aren't very long lasting but they do not dry out my lips the way some other products do! (Side note: the ones with glitter in them due tend to dry out my lips, so I avoid those).

Body

Bath & Body Works: Of all the goo brands I hoard, I think I am most faithful to B&BW. I am not sure if it is their multiples sales (buy 3 get 3 free) or the fact that I always get their products as gifts but I have ALOT of it. Right now, I am addicted to stress relief lotion I bought on clearance (it is discontinued). IMHO the aromatherapy lotions are higher quality than the signature lines (that doesn't stop me from buying the signature scents though). My favorite B&BW line "Black Chamomile Sleep Detox" has been discontinued for many years and I would love to have it back. I just saw that there are some products available in this line on Amazon but I do not know how legit that is....This does bring up a valid point about B&BW, if you fall in love with a scent, you may have a hard time getting it in the future, especially seasonal scents. They do occasionally have "retired" or "classic" product sales, so you can watch out for those.

Bodycology Body Cream & Body Wash: I picked up these products at Target and actually really enjoyed them and have integrated them into my regular product rotation. I feel like they are pretty comparable to the B&BW products at a much lower price point. The body cream is pretty thick, so if you are more of a lotion kind of person, you may not like this product. The only scent I have used is "Sweet Love", which is light, airy, and very sweet (think Sweet Pea B&BW). There were at least four other scents at Target but I loved Sweet Love so much, that I scooped it right up! I have also seen these products at Walmart (in the higher end bath products - not integrated with the "normal" bath products).

Hair

I am not currently in love with any hair products, so I do not have anything to specifically recommend. I am currently trying out tons of products, so check them out on the blog!
